The upcoming Arrinera supercar has officially been named ‘Hussarya’, and has been treated to a new exterior design to celebrate.

The images of what will be Poland’s first supercar show a more resolved design than previous iterations - though still something of a nod to recent Lamborghini models.

While the Hussarya name appears inspired by the new Pagani Huayra, Arrinera says the name is derived from the Polish Hussar cavalry from the 16th to 18th century, renowned for their beauty, strength and maneuverability.

Only the new exterior design is being shown for now, which maintains classic mid-engined supercar proportions and gains edgier surfacing along with new head and tail-lights.

The Hussarya’s doors now open conventionally - foregoing the scissor style of previous incarnations - and twin retractable spoiler/air brakes have been integrated into the rear guards.

The planned power source remains a Corvette ZR1-derived 485kW 6.2 litre supercharged LS9 V8, claimed to propel the Hussarya to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 340km/h.

Arrinera also plans to unveil a limited edition version of the Hussarya in the coming months, to be known as the ‘33 Series’.

Production will be limited to just 33 units, and will feature unique detailing inside and out.

As for the cooking version, the order books are said to open ‘no earlier than the end of 2013’.
