A new round of Australasian New Car Assessment Program crash testing has seen top safety ratings handed down to the Toyota LandCruiser and Mitsubishi Pajero, and three stars to the Foton Tunland.
The results salute significant upgrades to the 200 Series and the ageing Pajero, while the Tunland 3-Star rating defies expectations, with importer FAA previously confident of a 4-Star result.
"4x4 buyers are sure to be pleased with the announcement of 5 star ANCAP safety ratings for all variants of the Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series and Mitsubishi Pajero models," ANCAP Chairman Lauchlan McIntosh said.
"These are very popular choices for fleets and families alike and we now know they'll be better protected in these upgraded models."
