ANCAP – Mazda2 And CX-3 Get 5-Stars In Crash Testing But Audi TT Scores Only 4

Crash testing body ANCAP has announced its latest round of crash test results, with the Mazda2 light hatch and Mazda CX-3 compact crossover scoring a full 5-Star safety rating.

However while both Mazdas passed with flying colours, the new Audi TT coupe fared worse, with only a 4-Star result thanks to a below-average child occupant protection score and what ANCAP termed "insufficient safety assist technologies".

Using crash test data from sister organisation Euro NCAP, ANCAP's Audi TT results mirror those of its European counterpart.

Under Euro NCAP rules, the TT scored 81 percent for adult occupant protection, 68 percent for child occupant protection and 82 percent for pedestrian protection. These are the same scores used by ANCAP in its test report.
