Revealing the rear of the concept and a sketched glimpse of the cabin, the new images appeared on Russian website CarDesign.ru this week.
Styled by the European Design Institute (IED) and Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, the Gloria presents a potential rival for Audi’s A5 Sportback, with its 4700mm length and swooping roofline a near match for the Audi.
Featuring organic lines and similar detailing to Alfa’s 2uettottanta 2010 concept, the Gloria is designed to suit premium sedan-hungry US and Asian markets.
"In effect, the saloon remains a symbol of elegance and prestige for these markets, associated with the idea of comfortable space both at the front and the rear, expressed by the length of the model," Alfa Romeo says of the Gloria.
Such a model would sit atop the upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia midsizer, forming a flagship for Alfa Romeo’s future sedan lineup.
Specific details will have to wait until the Gloria’s physical unveiling, but Alfa’s press material suggests a production model could use a V6 or V8 twin turbo drivetrain - likely the 2013 Quattroporte engines also destined for the Ghibli.
