Alfa Romeo has recalled its MiTo light car, due to a potential problem with the brake booster.

The carmaker has identified an issue with the brake booster piping connector, which may be compliant with the relevant standards.

Should the connector fail, the vehicle’s braking system may not function correctly. This could cause a hazard to the vehicle’s occupants and other road users.

Affected models were built in 2012, with a total of just 15 vehicles targeted by the recall in Australia.

Alfa’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has also issued recalls this week for a trio of Fiat models in Australia.

The 500, 500 Abarth and Ducato load-hauler are all included in the recall.

Alfa Romeo will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
