Alfa Romeo has added a new variant to its local Giulietta range, but the model will only be available for a limited time.

Alfa has revived the Sprint name, not seen since the Alfasud Sprint (later simply Alfa Sprint) of 1976, but originally used on one of the most beautiful of Alfa Romeos, the 1954 Giulietta Sprint coupe.

The new limited edition Sprint joins the Progression, Distinctive and top-shelf Quadrifoglio Verde models in the local Giulietta line-up.

The Sprint introduces a 110kW/250Nm version of Alfa Romeo’s 1.4 litre MultiAir four-cylinder petrol engine to the Giulietta range for the first time in Australia.

True Alfa fans will be relieved to learn the Sprint comes with a six-speed manual transmission (the rest of Australia will likely be scared away be the lack of any self-shifting option).
