Alfa Romeo 6C To Grow Out Of Maserati Alfieri Project: Report

Reports are again circulating of a new Alfa Romeo ‘6C’ model that would enter above the new 4C coupe - and below the 2007 8C coupe.

Rumours in early 2013 pointed to plans for a 6C that would share its platform with the new rear-wheel-drive Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans.

A new report with the UK’s Auto Express adds new fuel to that fire, with unnamed insiders reportedly confirming that the coming Maserati Alfieri coupe will form the basis of the new hero Alfa.

And while the Alfieri concept was based on the GranTurismo MC Stradale, the so-called 6C is expected to ride on the Ghibli platform - a shortened version of the Quattroporte’s architecture.
