Alfa Romeo 169 To Become 6C: Report

Rumours of a successor to Alfa Romeo's 166 large sedan have been swirling around the internet for some years, and now it appears that Alfa's upcoming executive saloon could ditch a three-numeral designation and adopt the "6C" moniker instead.

According to Car and Driver, the 6C will spawn not just a four-door sedan, but a shapely two-door coupe (a concept rendering of which is pictured).

It will also be based on the same RWD platform used by the Maserati Ghibli, which will eventually underpin the 6C's American cousin, the Chrysler 300.
