2019 Jeep Wrangler Ute: Name And Engine Details Leaked

Some of the finer details of Jeep’s upcoming Wrangler-based pickup have started to emerge thanks to the enthusiast community at JeepScramblerForum.com including the name and powertrain details tipped to make it to the production version.

As has long been suspected, the Scrambler name will be attached to the new 4x4 ute according to info published from Jeep’s North American dealer system. Though not a household name for Aussie Jeep fans, Scrambler has been used previously for a pickup-style variant of the Wrangler’s predecessor overseas.

Also leaked via the dealer system, details of one of the available engines, revealed to be a latest-generation version of Jeep’s current 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 equipped with start-stop, which is also set to feature on the regular Wrangler, although official outputs are yet to be revealed.

The order system makes no mention of either petrol power, or a smaller four-cylinder engine, however with the production Scrambler still some way off those options are still expected be added to the system, and to carry over to the Wrangler.
