The flagship Mercedes-AMG GT range has been plumped up in Australia with the addition of new coupe variants and the first appearance of the GT Roadster range.
The upgraded AMG GT range now consists of six variants thanks to the addition of the GT R and GT C Edition 50 Coupes, and the GT and GT C Roadsters.
Pricing for the GT Roadster starts from $283,711 before on road costs with the GT C Roadster kicking off from $338,711. Both models receive wind deflectors and heated seats to maximise drop-top enjoyment, while the GT C features Mercedes-Benz's Airscarf neck-level heating.
All AMG GT variants are powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which produces 350kW and 630Nm in the GT Roadster and a more scintillating 410kW and 680Nm in the GT C Roadster. Both send power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Coupe models also come in for a slight revision in response to the new higher-powered Roadsters, with the fixed-roof GT and GT S moving up to 350kW/630Nm (up 10kW and 30Nm) and 384kW/670Nm (up 9kW and 20Nm) respectively.
Mercedes-Benz will also offer a limited edition AMG GT C Coupe to commemorate the 50th anniversary of AMG, with the Edition 50 to be available until 2018, priced from $335,211 plus on-road costs.
The Edition 50 bundles together extra equipment including AMG performance seats and steering wheel, AMG interior Night Package, Edition 50 detailing and badging throughout, quilted Nappa leather upholstery, black chrome touches, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy-wheels, and high-performance LED headlights.
Mercedes-AMG will also add the flagship 430kW/700Nm GT R Coupe to cap off the range, with pricing starting from $348,711 before on-road costs.
All models will be available from October, 2017.
