Kia has confirmed which features and specifications will go with its all-new Stinger large car range when it arrives later this year, following an announcement earlier this month confirming a sub-$50,000 entry price for the twin-turbo V6 model.
Officially the specification details relate only to the V6 model, with the turbocharged four-cylinder models yet to be discussed, though it’s expected the four-cylinder will mostly match the V6 grade-for-grade with only minor differences.
Starting with the $48,990 (plus on-road costs) Stinger S buyers get 18-inch alloy wheels, a limited slip rear differential, eight-way driver's and six-way passenger’s front seat adjustment, artificial leather trim for the seats and steering wheel, cruise control, reversing camera with parking sensors, LED daytime running lights and a 7.0-inch touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety systems on the Stinger S will include seven airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, electronic stability and traction control, rear cross traffic alert, and a pedestrian-protecting active bonnet though autonomous emergency braking is not included on the base model.
Stepping up to the $55,990 Si grade brings additional features including 19-inch alloy wheels, 8.0-inch touchscreen and a nine-speaker sound system with two woofers. The upgrade also means enhanced safety systems like radar cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision warning, lane keep assist, driver fatigue alert, plus front parking sensors and auto wipers.
The luxed-up GT tops the range, priced from $59,990 and includes Nappa leather upholstery with GT logos, more adjustable seats with lumbar support and adjustable bolsters, a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, 15-speaker premium Harman Kardon audio system, 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, alloy sports pedals, suede headliner and pillars and wireless phone charging.
Power for all three variants comes from a 3.3-litre bi-turbo V6 petrol engine with outputs rated at 272kW and 510Nm, linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.
The Kia Stinger range goes on sale locally in October, 2017.
