BMW's new X2 SUV has been teased again ahead of its official debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
Fresh images of the new coupe-styled baby SUV have been released by the German carmaker, showing the X2 in bright camouflage but still giving fans their best impression yet of the production version.
A tapered roofline with narrow rear windows dominate the new X2's profile, while the classic conservative BMW design language is present along with the kidney grille.
The X2 was first revealed in concept form at the 2016 Paris Motor Show (pictured, below) and will share the same underpinnings as the new X1.
Powerplants will likely mirror the range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines in a variety of tunes seen in the X1, along with the choice of both manual and automatic transmissions driving the front or all four wheels.
Earlier this year, BMW Australia's CEO, Marc Werner, confirmed that the X2 would be sold in Australia.
"From a pure numerical product lineup it makes perfect sense to launch an X2 between the X1 and X3, and basically follow the concept of the SAV coupes (Sport Activity Vehicles) such as the X4 and the X6, particularly as the X4 is going from strength to strength here in the market," Werner said.
However, Werner didn't say when the X2 would arrive, but the first half of 2018 would be the most likely landing date.
