Audi is preparing to enter the plug-in hybrid SUV arena in Australia with its Q7 e-tron after first introducing it in Europe in 2015.

Set to arrive locally in January 2018, the Q7 e-tron will slot into the German brand’s range just below the V8-powered SQ7 as an image leader for the regular Q7 lineup.

Priced from $139,900 plus on-road costs, the Q7 is slightly more expensive than its chief rivals like the $118,500 BMW X5 40e and the $124,900 Mercedes-Benz GLE 500e.
