Volkswagen has revealed its latest attempt at its electric I.D. Crozz crossover concept.

The German brand has unveiled a subtly reworked version of the I.D. Crozz concept car at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, confirming the high riding crossover will go into production in 2020 as an integral part of the German car maker’s Strategy 2025 electric car offensive.

Volkswagen first unveiled the I.D. Crozz at at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show, with the latest incarnation receiving altered front end styling that Volkswagen brand chairman, Herbert Diess, suggests brings it more in line with the definitive production version than the original concept.

"As early as 2020 we aim to sell 100,000 all-electric Volkswagens [per year]. But this is just the beginning. By 2025, annual sales could increase ten-fold to one million vehicles," Diess said in reference to internal sales forecast for a new range of new electric models already confirmed for production, including the I.D. hatchback first unveiled at the 2016 Paris motor show, the I.D. Buzz van revealed at the 2017 Detroit motor show and the reworked I.D. Crozz.

Diess says the new electric car line-up will be offered alongside the existing range of traditional combustion engine and hybrid powered Volkswagen models.
