While the Impreza concepts all feature sharply drawn LED-headlights, the production model looks set to switch to more simplified conventional lamps.
Beneath the headlight a large, strongly defined intake remains in place, as does Subaru’s mesh-filled six-point grille.
Under the skin the new Impreza will ride atop Subaru’s new modular chassis, dubbed Subaru Global Platform, which will sit beneath Subaru’s small car and can be stretched out to accommodate a three-row SUV.
Mechanically, the new Impreza will continue Subaru’s tradition of horizontally opposed four cylinder engines, linked to all wheel drive.
Full engine and powertrain details will be kept under wraps until the Impreza’s New York debut.
Australian launch timing for the all new Impreza is set for the fourth quarter of 2016, with further details of Australian delivered cars to be released closer to the local launch.
