Compared to the standard Cayenne S models, the Platinum Edition models can be identified by their platinum-coloured 21-inch Sport Edition satin-finish alloy wheels, gloss black window surrounds, and Platinum Edition lettering on the front door sills.
Added equipment includes a panoramic roof, 360-degree park assist camera, lane change assist, and Porsche Power Steering Plus speed-adaptive steering.
On the inside the Cayenne S Platinum Editions come with power-adjustable leather sports seats with Alcantara inserts from the Cayenne GTS, the Porsche crest on all headrests, Connect Plus for the Porsche Communication Management system, and an analogue clock mounted in the dashboard.
The Cayenne S and Cayenne S Diesel Platinum Editions join the existing Cayenne Diesel and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition range, with Porsche claiming an extra $12,000 of added equipment for the newest additions.
Engine outputs are unchanged from the regular edition models, with the Cayenne S developing 309kW and 550Nm from its twin-turbo 3.6-litre petrol V6 and the Cayenne S Diesel generating 283kW and 850Nm from its 4.2-litre twin-turbo diesel V8.
Pricing for the new Platinum Edition variants undercuts the regular Cayenne S and Cayenne S Diesels with reductions of 4.3 and 4.4 percent respectively.
