Peugeot’s next-generation 3008 SUV has been caught in the metal in a very short clip currently appearing online.
YouTube user ‘FaridTeir’ has captured the footage, which shows the front and front quarter-side profiles of the new 3008.
Although far from cinema quality, the footage shows the new model shares similarities with the Chinese version of the 3008, of which an update was revealed at the Beijing Auto Show last month (pictured, below).
But Europe’s 3008 is far from a copy of the Chinese market model, with a slimmer grille and vastly different headlights appearing on the car shown in the short clip.
The alloy wheel design is also similar yet different on the European model, while the side mirrors are a further point of difference.
Beyond these changes, the silver trim piece adorning the lower part of the front bumper is perhaps more pronounced, but any further changes are unclear.
There’s no sneak peak of the interior as yet, but an overhauled infotainment system and an all-new digital instrument cluster are expected to feature - as previewed by Peugeot’s i-Cockpit.
Currently, the 3008 in Australia is available with a 1.6 litre petrol engine or a 2.0 litre diesel unit - both four-cylinder and both matched exclusively with a six-speed automatic.
Power in overseas markets is expected to come from a range of three- and four-cylinder engines, with both front- and all-wheel-drive models available.
Fans may not have to wait long to see the rest of the new 3008, with reports out of France suggesting the official unveiling will happen next month.
