Mercedes-Benz has confirmed pricing and specifications for its E-Class coupe range in Australia, ahead of a local arrival in the middle of this year.

The new coupe was officially unveiled at the end of last year, and three models will initially be on offer for customers in Australia.

Prices will start from $96,000 plus on-roads for the E 220d diesel-powered variant, which is driven by a 143kW/400Nm 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The E 220d will hit 100km/h from rest in 7.4 seconds, and the official fuel figure is 4.9 l/100km.

The E 300 sits in the middle of the range, priced from $110,900 plus on-roads, with power coming from a 180kW/370Nm 2.0 litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.

Times for the 0-100km/h sprint drop by one second over the E 220d to 6.4 seconds, and fuel usage is rated at 6.4 l/100km.

Topping the range for now is the E 400 4Matic which features the German carmaker’s all-wheel-drive system matched with a twin-turbo 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine producing 245kW and 480Nm.

Prices start from $145,900, and the 0-100km/h and fuel figures are 5.3 seconds and 8.1l/100km respectively.

All models are matched only with Benz’s nine-speed automatic transmission, and all but the E 400 4Matic are rear-wheel-drive.

Depending on the variant, features for the 2017 E-Class coupe in Australia include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Mercedes Comand Online system, leather interior trim, sunroof, air suspension, LED headlamps, keyless entry with push-button start and more.

The E 220d is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, which grow to 20-inch AMG wheels on the E 300 and E 400.
Buyers of the E 300 and 400 can also opt for the ‘Edition 1’ package, priced from $5900 on the 300 and $2420 on the 400.

Only 555 E-Class coupes will be sold worldwide with the Edition 1 pack, and features include Nappa leather, cashmere and microfibre interior enhancements, black exterior highlights, Edition 1 badging and a different 20-inch wheel design.
