For the 2017 model year the Kia Sorento SUV is set to get an image overhaul thanks to the introduction of Kia’s sporty GT-Line appearance package.
Unlike the smaller Sportage, which features GT-Line styling on the top-spec Platinum model, the seven-seat Sorento will introduce the GT-Line as a new flagship model positioned above the Platinum.
The Sorento GT-Line adds features including stainless steel side steps, LED ‘ice cube’ fog lamps, GT-Line badging, red brake calipers, and 19-inch chrome-finish wheels. On the inside the interior wears red leather trim, while safety has also been upgraded with the addition of autonomous emergency braking.
The Sorento GT-Line features Kia’s 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing 147kW of power and 441Nm of torque (unchanged from the rest of the range), linked to a six-speed automatic and all wheel drive.
The GT-Line also carries over the Platinum’s standard features including satellite navigation, heated first and second row seats, ventilated front seats with power adjustment, a powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.
The Sorento Platinum is also upgraded for 2017 with the addition of autonomous emergency braking, while the Sorento Si and SLi gain LED running lights.
No change has been made to the pricing of Sorento Si and SLi, Sorento Platinum rises by $600 to $56,590. The newly added Sorento GT-Line starts from $58,490
