BMW has given its versatile 3 Series GT range a once-over for the 2017 model year, streamlining the range, adding new technology, and freshening the look both inside and out.

The previous 320i entry model has been deleted with the new two model range comprising the diesel powered 320d and petrol 330i, taking the place of the previous 328i.

On the outside, the 3 Series GT wears a new front bumper design complemented by LED fog-lights and bi-LED headlights with a new LED running light signature. Adaptive LED lighting is available on the options list.

At the rear a new bumper design houses an enlarged twin-outlet exhaust finisher, and new LED tail-lights, while new 19-inch alloy wheel designs round out the styling changes.

Inside the 3 Series GT picks up BMW’s Professional navigation system, with a new user interface, while the 330i comes with a standard panoramic glass roof.

The 320d is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 140kW and 400Nm allowing a 7.7 second 0-100 km/h sprint and fuel consumption of 4.5 l/100km.

Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, Sport Line trim, adaptive M suspension, head up display, DAB+ digital radio, Sensatec (artificial leather) upholstery, auto tailgate, surround view camera and lane change warning.

The 330i provides 185kW and 350Nm from its 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine, allowing a 6.1 second 0-100 km/h time and 6.2 l/100km fuel consumption.

Additional standard features compared to the 320d include 19-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, keyless entry and ignition, nine-speaker HiFi system, and a panoramic glass roof.
