2016 Toyota Prius Delayed Due To Styling Woes: Report

Toyota’s next-generation Prius may be delayed, with reports the Japanese carmaker is putting the hybrid’s styling through the wringer.

Earlier reports this year suggested the new Prius would switch from a 2015 debut to 2016, as engineers fine-tuned the power plant for maximum efficiency.

Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda promised ‘more emotion’ in future models, and is reportedly responsible for sending the design team back to the drawing board over the Prius.

Green Car Reports suggests the 2016 Prius will be the most dramatically designed yet, with styling cues from the C-HR concept unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show.

Furthermore, fans will be able to discern the hybrid from the plug-in hybrid in the new model, as each will feature some unique styling characteristics.
