Mercedes-Benz is understandably relaxed about its new C-Class Coupe, but a new model is coming; eventually…
The sedan has been a runaway success in Australia, chalking up 890 sales just last month. That’s more than any other midsized car at any price-point, except for Toyota’s top-selling Camry.
Despite the C-Class Coupe soldering on in its current guise, it managed 122 sales of its own in Australia during June.
But a new model is on the way, and Mercedes has reminded us of that fact by offering up a glimpse of the AMG C 63 Coupe performance hero ahead of its official unveiling.
That unveiling is scheduled to take place at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
In a new video, we see a driver wearing racing attire and flicking various switches inside the C 63’s cabin.
There’s a brief shot of one of the doors, along with images of the same square exhaust tips as the C 63 sedan and the AMG-tuned engine.
The engine will likely be the AMG 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 producing either 350kW/650Nm or 375kW/700Nm.
Alongside the C 63 in Frankfurt will be the regular C-Class Coupe, and some of Benz’s bosses revealed this week that fans can expect a ‘sportier’ design from the new model.
Expect more to be revealed in the lead-up to the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show - stay tuned.
