2016 BMW 5 Series Spied Testing

BMW’s next-generation 5 Series sedan has been spied testing this week, ahead of what is likely to be a late 2015 or early 2016 debut.

These spy photos, the first of the coming new 5 Series, join shots obtained last month of the carmaker’s flagship limousine, the big 7 Series.

Both models, it is now clear, will take their front-end styling cues from BMW’s latest models, particularly the X5, X4 and facelifted X3.

The new 5 Series will be the sixth-generation BMW to wear the name, and the second since controversial designer Chris Bangle was replaced by Adrian van Hooydonk.
