While the Audi TT has only just gone on sale in Europe, the German automaker's engineers are already hard at work on its roofless counterpart.
Seen here at the Nurburgring Nordschliefe circuit, this TT Roadster prototype shows that Audi won't be messing with the topless TT's familiar formula.
The new TT Roadster will continue to be offered as a soft-top, with the roof-up silhouette showing a slightly coupe-like profile instead of the coupe's sleeker fastback shape.
Two prominent roll hoops will continue to be a key feature of the TT Roadster's roof-down appearance, while cabin design will be almost identical to the coupe.
Expect a similar engine line-up when the TT Roadster makes it debut, with a range of 2.0 litre petrol and diesel engines and a faster AWD TTS model in the mix.
