2015 Renault Alpine Mule Spied Wearing Exige Skin

Butchered Exige, or Renault Alpine test mule? Our spy photographers are banking on the latter, and given the French plates on this Brit-bodied monster they could very well be right.

Built as a collaboration with Caterham, the Alpine mule shown here may be wearing the skin of a Lotus, but it's a wholly different machine underneath.

A dramatic increase in track width over the donor Lotus necessitates those huge fender blisters, although the Alpine's wheelbase looks to be quite close to that of the Exige.

With the Exige being one of the smallest cars on the road, that should give a good indication of the Alpine's scale.
