2015 Peugeot 308 Ligne S Boosts Entry Model’s Styling Cred

Peugeot has added a new styling pack to the bottom end of its revised 308 hatch range, dubbed ‘Ligne S’.

Available with the auto-equipped entry-level 308 Access, the Ligne S pack adds another $2300 to the model’s recently reduced $24,690 drive-away price.

For the kicked-up drive-away price of $26,990, the 308 Ligne S upgrades the Access auto hatch’s 15-inch steel wheels to 17-inch alloys, while adding a handful of other tricks.

Those include black mirror covers with red stripe, front spoiler, lower side skirts, rear diffuser, chequered motif side decals, ‘Linge S’ carpet mats with red piping, ‘Linge S’ rear view mirror cover with red stripe.

The small hatch is otherwise unchanged, with power again provided by a turbocharged 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine offering 96kW of power and 230Nm of torque.

Matched to a six-speed auto, the perky turbo-three lists fuel use at 4.6 l/100km, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 9.6 seconds.

The new 308 is on a roll in 2015, with year-to-date sales currently sitting at 705 - compared to 269 for the same period in 2014, when the previous-generation 308 was still on the market.
