Mitsubishi Australia has rolled out a number of feature updates to its workhorse Triton range, including the addition of a limited-edition ‘Warrior’ model.

Updated for the 2015 model year see GL and GLX models get an upgraded audio system and Bluetooth functions, with phone and iPod hands-free operation, voice recognition and steering-mounted controls.

The update makes these features standard across the range.

All double-cab models are also now equipped with two ISOFIX child seat anchor points, and the GLX-R now has an all-black interior theme.

The Triton’s mechanical package remains unchanged for the new model year, and pricing is also unchanged.

A new Warrior model has also joined the range for a limited time, available in manual and auto form.

Based on the GLX-R, the Warrior picks up a rear differential lock, leather seat trim with powered driver’s seat, eight-speaker audio and Mitsubishi Power sound amplifier.

On the outside, there’s an alloy front nudge bar, flush-fit soft tonneau cover and Warrior graphics on the front doors.

Drive-away pricing for the Warrior is listed at $43,990 in five-speed manual form and $45,990 for the five-speed auto.

The Triton Warrior is limited to 200 units.

All New 2015 Triton Due Soon

Mitsubishi is expected to launch an all-new Triton pickup later this year, replacing the current model that first appeared here in 2006.

The company has yet to reveal the new model, although we can likely expect last year's GR-HEV concept to donate more than a few styling cues to the next Triton.
