New artwork purportedly previewing the next Mercedes-Benz Viano has surfaced online today, revealing a sharpened look and a more upmarket cabin.
Look past the stylised and exaggerated lines and it's clear that, authentic or not, the design of this Viano concept takes its cues from Merc's latest offerings.
Up front we see the carmaker's bold and upright new grille design flanked by sharp headlights that evoke the new A-Class, while the profile shows off a deep character line, a familiar glasshouse and flared guards.
The theme continues in the cabin, dominated by a sweeping new dash design that again draws on the interior styling of Merc's new models, with wood and aluminium highlights throughout.
And, with the Viano sharing its body and components with the Vito van, we can likely expect the company's next haul-lugger to wear a similar look.
According to enthusiast site Mercedes-Benz Passion, the new Viano will get a four-cylinder design engine with varying outputs depending on the model, and a seven-speed auto will be the only transmission on offer.
For its part, Mercedes-Benz has yet to confirm the authenticity of these images, but an unveiling might be right around the corner.
