The all-new 2015 Mazda2 hatch, revealed in July, has today hit the production line at the company's Automotive Alliance Thailand plant (AAT).
A joint venture between the Japanese carmaker and Ford, AAT also produces the BT-50 and Ranger pickups, along with a number of other models.
The very first examples of the new AAT-built Mazda2 will come to Australia, with other ASEAN and Oceanic markets also set to take supply from the Thai plant.
Australia’s Thai sourcing of the 2 will be an almost entirely new affair, with the outgoing range sourced from Japan for all but one of its seven years.
