2015 Mazda MX-5 Teased? You Tell Us…

UPDATE: The all-new MX-5 HAS NOW BEEN REVEALED.

Mazda’s new MX-5 has now been teased once in the form of its SkyActiv skeleton, and recent shots of a camouflaged roadster in Japan have also gotten fans into a tizzy.

Another teaser has been circulating this week, in the form of a draped-in-blue convertible posted to Mazda’s own “2016 MX-5 Miata Reveal” event page on Facebook.

But is this latest photo truly a preview of the new MX-5?

A number of details in the expertly-creased blue sheet point to styling cues of the existing ‘NC’ model - cues that don’t quite line up with the lines of that camouflaged roadster spied in Japan this week.

Seven pages of debate among fans at enthusiast site forum.miata.net has also done little to solve this would-be mystery, although a handful of overlays and mockups of the ‘teaser’ image add weight to both sides of the argument.
