2015 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO REPLACEMENT
While wrapped in heavy camouflage, it's clear the new model will draw remain similar in size to its predecessor, while drawing design inspiration from the larger Aventador hypercar.
Reports in recent months have suggested the new model's power source will be an upgraded version of the 5.2 litre V10 found in the current model, while the platform will again be shared with Audi's (next) R8 supercar.
Power should climb to around 450kW, and with a more lightweight construction than the current model, performance should increase well beyond what that relatively modest boost would otherwise suggest.
All-wheel-drive will remain the standard configuration, although, like the Gallardo, a rear-wheel-drive option is bound to appear at some point.
A seven-speed dual-clutch auto should replace the Gallardo's e-gear automated manual, and - thanks to very low demand among buyers - a manual version probably won't appear.
