Hyundai Australia’s updated Santa Fe SUV makes its official debut this week, following the release of pricing and details last month.

For 2015, the popular family hauler picks up a number of new features, along with a price rise on top-end models. Hyundai has also added a new sports-tuned 'SR' flagship model to the range.

Pricing for the Santa Fe SR, at the top of the line-up, will be revealed closer to its quarter-one 2015 launch.

The range again kicks off at $38,490 for the Active trim, while the mid-spec Elite and top Highlander models are now priced at $48,490 and $53,240.

The Elite’s $500 increase sees Hyundai’s Smart Tailgate included as standard, allowing touch-free access to the rear luggage space.

For the Highlander, now up by $1250 over the outgoing range, Hyundai has added Lane Departure Warning, front parking sensors and Smart Parking Assist.

The assistant uses an ultrasonic wave sensor to measure a parking space, taking control of the steering wheel during parking procedures.

Across the full range, the 2015 Santa Fe also gets a darkened chrome finish to the grille, along with new cornering lights and a new look to the daytime running lights.

As with the outgoing range, the Active models roll on 17-inch alloys, while the Elite and Highlander get 18-inch and 19-inch alloys respectively.

All three trim grades feature a full-sized alloy spare.

The range is otherwise unchanged for 2015, with powertrain options - depending on the model - including a 141kW/242Nm 2.4 litre petrol four and a 145kW/421Nm 2.2 litre diesel four.

Six-speed manual and auto transmissions are available with the Active grade, while the Elite and Highlander can be had with the auto only.
