Hyundai has released a solitary image of its all-new i20 World Rally Championship car, which is currently undergoing shakedown testing in preparation for a likely debut in next year's WRC season

Based on the i20 that's just made its public debut at the Paris motor show, Hyundai's new rally racer differs uses a five-door shell rather than the more compact three-door body style favoured by the current WRC car.

But that's not the only difference. According to Hyundai Motorsport Team Principal Michel Nandan, the new car is entirely new with hardly any carryover from the car it will replace.

“It’s a totally different car compared to current WRC model; the platform is different, the car is longer, lower and wider and it features a new engine, transmission and other components,” Nandan said.
