Update: current diesel models to continue into second half of 2015.

Honda’s refreshed CR-V ‘Series II’ midsized SUV, revealed early in October, is now on sale in Australia.

Changes for 2015 include a re-styled look to both ends, with a new grille, revised headlights and an updated front bumper, along with a light makeover at the rear.

For now, the CR-V’s 2015 update is limited to the petrol range, with the DTi-S and DTi-L models carrying on without change.

The 2WD range is now also offered in VTi, VTi-S and VTi-L form, with the latter two previously exclusive to the 4WD range only.

Entry VTi models have also been upgraded to feature Honda’s Display Audio infotainment system, including a large centre display with Bluetooth, HDMI and USB connectivity.

VTi-S models gain Smart Entry with push-button start, auto wipers and headlights, front and rear parking sensors and dual-zone climate control.

There’s also Honda’s LaneWatch system with the VTi-S grade, which adds an 80 degree camera view of the left traffic lane for additional blindspot monitoring.

At the top of the range, the VTi-L models pick up Display Audio Plus with satellite navigation, along with leather-trimmed upholstery.

As before, the 4WD VTi-L model can also be had with the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), which includes Collision Mitigating Braking System (CMBS), Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS).

All 2WD models are powered by a 114kW/190Nm 2.0 litre petrol four-cylinder engine, matched to a six-speed manual in VTi form and a five-speed paddle-shifted auto with the VTi-S and VTi-L models.

In 4WD form, all three VTi, VTi-S and VTi-L models are driven by a 140kW/222Nm 2.4 litre petrol four, matched to the five-speed auto.

Fuel consumption for the 2WD models is listed 7.8 (manual) and 7.7 (auto) l/100km, while the 4WD models list fuel use at 8.7.0 l/100km.

Rear cargo space is listed 1648 litres with the back seats folded flat.

Speaking with TMR today, Honda Australia's Melissa Cross confirmed that the current diesel CR-V models will continue into 2015, with updates expected to arrive in the second half of the year.
