UPDATE: Honda Australia confirms this 'Sport' will not hit Australia. See bottom of article.
Honda has pulled the wraps this week from its anticipated 2015 Civic Hatch update, showcasing a face- and bum-lift for the curvy five-door.
Revealed today in Sport trim, the refreshed hatch gets re-styled headlights with integrated LED daytime lamps.
And, as the sporting model in the range, the Sport variant also picks up a new mesh-filled grille and bumper design that takes more than a few cues from the coming Civic Type R hot hatch.
Changes through the profile are limited to 17-inch black alloys and a subtle skirt design, while the rear benefits from re-styled lamps again featuring new tube-style LED lighting.
In Type R form, the rear will also wear a tall wing, perched atop the high-mounted tail lights.
Recent spy photos reveal what we can expect from that spoiler design, and it won’t be anything like the fighter jet-style wings shown with last year’s concept.
Honda will also debut its version of the recently revealed Android Auto infotainment system with the refreshed Civic hatch, allowing for a greater level of integration with compatible devices.
Watch for more details and photos to come with the opening of next month’s Paris Motor Show.
Speaking with TMR today, Honda Australia's Melissa Cross confirmed that while the facelifted Civic Hatch range will debut here in the first half of 2015, the Sport-kitted model revealed today will not be among the models offered.
Ms Cross also confirmed that, as with the current range, the Civic Tourer wagon will again be kept from Australian buyers.
