Smart has rolled out a final set of teaser images for its new ForTwo city car, which, along with the larger ForFour, is set to be unveiled in the coming hours.

These latest sketches, which look a little more like a Brabus-tuned performance version of the ForTwo, follow the release of a teaser video released early last week.

That earlier clip (shown below) sees Smart run through the series of concepts unveiled over the past few years, including the Forvision of 2011, the For-us and Forstars from 2012 and last year’s Fourjoy.

Smart says that each of the concepts has inspired and previewed the new production models in some way, although TMR’s own spy photos reveal that the similarities are likely to be slim.

Tracing the evolution of the Smart brand, the new video also emphasises key aspects of the new ForTwo, including its 100mm wider body and more stylised shape.

Those new proportions are thanks to the twins’ shared platform, which also underpins the new Renault Twingo.

But, while the Twingo is not expected to come to Australia anytime soon, a local debut for the new Smart cars is expected to occur in 2015.

That will follow the ForTwo and ForFour’s Paris Motor Show premiere in October, although an earlier unveiling is set to occur later today.
