Ford’s newly facelifted Ranger pickup has been caught out in the open this week, taking a quick pitstop near its Thai manufacturing base.
Spied by local enthusiast website Headlight, the updated Ranger is shown in its workhorse cab-chassis form with rugged black plastic bumper and grille.
These shots follow the 2015 Ranger’s first official appearance in November last year, when the refreshed pickup was revealed in its tubbed dual-cab guise.
That model, a more up-spec trim, gave fans their first look at the Ranger with its new Everest-inspired face, including a chrome-heavy grille and new headlights.
The Ranger’s cabin is also expected to get a makeover for 2015, with a new design and more premium materials, although Ford has yet to reveal plans or images on that front.
Ford’s updated pickup is expected to be given a proper unveiling in the coming months, with an Australian debut likely to occur in the third quarter.
There was better news for the Ranger in New Zealand, however, where it ended the HiLux’s 32-year reign in the final weeks of 2014, amassing 6330 sales against the Toyota’s 5774 sales.
