Ford’s all-new Focus RS hot hatch has surfaced online just hours out from its official unveiling.
Due to premiere in the US just after midnight Australian time, the new RS will enter above the existing ST as the new hero in Ford’s global Focus range.
These photos offer the first ‘official’ look at the new model, revealing a complex front-end made up of a broad new main grille flanked by tall fog lights bezels and additional intakes.
The new RS hatch’s profile is largely unchanged, although a lightly flared guards appear present in these low-quality leaked images.
The rear is dominated by that familiar big top-mounted wing, sitting above a new rear bumper fitted out with a diffuser and two large corner-set exhaust tips.
Technical details, as Ford PR executives heave a sigh of relief, remain a secret for now.
Still, those details might already be out in the open, courtesy of an earlier mishap that saw Ford’s Belarusian arm post details of a 240kW all-wheel-drive configuration to its Instagram account last week.
“Magnificent Focus RS is coming. 2.3 EcoBoost from New Mustang, 320 hp, and all-wheel drive (AWD). And it is something we are waiting for February 3, at the launch of the public. And yet - Stay tuned, guys,” the company posted.
Watch for all the details, and higher-quality images, to come very early tomorrow morning. Set your alarms for between 12:30 and 1am.
