The ‘teaser’ campaign for Ford’s revitalised Falcon range adds another chapter today with the unveiling of the facelifted G6E sedan.
This latest online unveiling follows the reveal last week of the new XR6 and reborn XR8 sports models.
We can also see here further confirmation that the regular and XR models will share an identical headlight shape, with only the internal features setting the designs apart.
All models will feature the new trapezoidal grille that brings the refreshed Falcon in-line with Ford’s latest offerings, in particular the new Mondeo midsizer and the hero Mustang two-door - both due here in 2015.
In G6E form, that restyled grille again boasts a chrome-rich look, with a glossy finish to the frame and four-bar louvre design setting it apart from the black mesh design of the XR models.
A similarly unique lower bumper design rounds out the front-end changes, while the profile view is dominated by large multi-spoke alloy wheels.
“The G6E provides a new level of design detailing. Even casually glancing at the G6E you can see it’s a premium vehicle,” Ford Australia designer Nima Nourian said.
“There’s some fine craftsmanship in the bright-work and the way the front and rear design treatments mesh with the jewelry on the car. It’s very well executed, even down to the front fender vent.”
