Three powered-up and specially tuned ‘595’ models in Fiat’s Abarth 500 range have hit Australia this week, injecting new heat into the city car range.
Replacing the current Esseesse models are the entry 595 Turismo hatch and the top-spec 595 Competizione hatch and cabrio.
Importantly, the debut of these two specials also sees the price of entry into a hotted-up 500 slashed, with the Abarth range starting at $33,500 - down from $34,990 for the outgoing Esseesse.
You’ll hand over more to get into the feature-packed Competizione models however, which are priced from $36,500 for the hatch and $39,000 for the cabrio (a little more than the $38,990 Essesse cabrio it replaces).
The new trio is again powered by a turbocharged 1.4 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 118kW at 5500rpm and 230Nm at 3000rpm.
