Citroen’s refreshed DS3 hatch will hit Australia next month, bringing lightly updated looks and a number of new safety extras.

Revealed early last year, the updated hatch’s key styling tweaks include updated lighting at both ends, new wheels and new interior trim options.

New engine options also debuted with the revised DS3, although details of the Australia range’s 2015 powertrains are still to be released.

Confirmed today however is the addition of PSA’s Peugeot Citroen Active City Brake technology, making the DS3 the first Citroen to get the system.

Active at speeds below 31km/h, Active City Brake utilises a short-range laser sensor to determine if a collision is imminent, automatically applying the brakes.

“As our flagship marque, it is fitting that a DS badged vehicle is the first to receive the innovative Active City Brake technology,” Citroen Australia boss John Startari said today.
