The long-body variant is now available with a six-speed automatic for the first time, and has knocked 1.0 l/100km from its combined fuel figure.
Previously, the 4380mm short-body was available with either petrol- or diesel-power and the 4628mm long-body was diesel only.
All three variants were only available with a five-speed manual transmission, with fuel figures of 8.2 and 5.8 l/100km for the petrol and diesel short-body models respectively and 5.7 l/100km for the single-variant long-body.
For 2015, the long-body is still diesel-only but is now available with either five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions; the latter with paddle shifters.
The long-body manual carries over unchanged, but the new auto model with stop-start technology has improved the Berlingo’s fuel figure to 4.7 l/100km and made it Euro 5 emissions compliant.
Power for both diesel models still comes from Citroen’s 1.6 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 66kW and 215Nm.
The auto model also gains standard electronic stability control and hill-start assist (optional in other models), while both long-body variants also offer Bluetooth and both left and right sliding side doors.
The short-body is now available as a single variant, powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine producing 80kW and 147Nm and matched with the five-speed manual transmission.
Citroen says its long-body variant makes up over 90 percent of Berlingo sales.
It also claims that buyers of the automatic version travelling 20,000km annually can expect to save around $300 per year on their fuel bills; compared with the outgoing model.
All 2015 Citroen Berlingo models are available with drive-away pricing until the end of 2014, starting from $19,990.
