The new coupe has packed on the styling and aero enhancements, including flared and fattened guards to accommodate the new model's wider track and wheels.
There's also a new carbon-fibre lip and skirt kit around the bottom edge to help glue the Z06 to the road, along with a new bumper, a powerful bonnet bulge and a NASCAR-like rear wing.
Technical details for the Z06 won't come until this week's official unveiling, but an earlier online snafu appears to have revealed key power figures.
Thanks to a poorly hidden Chevrolet website page, one fan has reportedly discovered that the new Z06 will churn out a colossal 462kW and 880Nm, reportedly through a new supercharged V8 engine.
That's a hefty increase over the regular Stingray's figures, with its 6.2 litre direct-injected V8 producing 339kW and 624Nm of torque.
An official sports exhaust package will add 5kW and 6Nm to those figures respectively, but that is still well short of the numbers claimed for the Z06.
The leaked interior shot also points to an automatic transmission, although details on that front remain a secret for now. Could GM be planning to unveil an advanced new shifter with its hero coupe?
Reports until now have suggested the Z06 will feature the same seven-speed rev-matched manual transmission and six-speed automatic with paddle shifters as fitted to the Stingray.
“It will be the most track-capable Corvette ever, designed to deliver supercar levels of performance through unique powertrain, chassis and aerodynamic features,” GM has said of the Z06. Perhaps buyers can look forward to a new dual-clutch auto...
Acceleration in the Z06 should also be blistering, with the regular Stingray already capable of a 0-100km/h in "less than four seconds".
Watch for more details to come this week.
