Volkswagen has reportedly ended production of the current Scirocco R sports hatch, ahead of an early 2014 launch for the long-expected facelift.
Reports suggest the facelifted 2014 Scirocco will appear March's Geneva Motor Show, and recent spy photos reveal that testing of the revised model is nearly complete.
The styling alignment to the Volkswagen family-face of the current Scirocco is likely to continue; so don't look for anything too radical here beyond sharpened headlights and a new front bumper.
The spied tester is wearing undisguised tail-lights, although we could still see a new lens design appear.
We can however expect an overhauled cabin, with Volkswagen's new steering wheel design - from either the regular new Golf range or the unique tiller found in the GTI and Beetle - a new dash display and new materials.
Volkswagen's latest comfort and safety technologies should also appear including the carmaker's Automatic Post-Collision Braking System - designed to apply the brakes after an accident to reduce secondary collisions.
Expect the updated Scirocco to appear in early 2014.
