2014 RENAULT MEGANE
Renault’s facelifted Megane range, revealed in September last year, will make its Australian debut in the coming months.
Speaking at the launch of the new Clio GT hatch this week, Renault Australia boss Justin Hocevar told TMR that buyers can expect a July launch for the updated Megane.
Seeing the range through to the next generation - likely due in 2016 - the updated Megane gets a significant front-end makeover.
For 2014, the Megane picks up the carmaker's new family face, rounding off the inside corner of the existing headlights - now connected through Renault's familiar new grille design.
There's also new bumper designs across the range, varying in look depending on the model.
Australian specifications for the updated range are still to be confirmed, although we can likely expect much of last year’s technical update to carry over.
The local Megane range landed an update in July last year, featuring a 103kW 2.0 petrol engine and an 81kW 1.5 litre turbodiesel.
The wagon model also debuted, along with the new GT 220 and GT Line variants. Later in October, Renault also added a 1.2 litre turbocharged and direct-injected model to the range.
Watch for more details to come in the next couple of months.
