Five years on from the launch of the second-generation model, the big change for 2013 is the incorporation of Renault’s new family-wide styling language.
Changes to the Kangoo include new headlights, front sheetmetal and fascia, along with new wing mirrors and revised taillights.
The Kangoo Z.E. pure-electric variant (sold internationally) will feature a new specific front bumper design, with its charge port now located behind the Renault grille logo.
On the inside, a new steering wheel, centre console, and revised materials will also be joined by the addition of Renault’s R-Link multimedia system.
A five-seat version of the commercial model will be available for the first time, matching that of Volkswagen’s new Caddy Maxi Crewvan.
Safety will be improved with the addition of stability control to the Kangoo for the first time, and an electronic hill assist function will also feature.
Mechanical updates are expected to be otherwise minor, but full details will be released after its Geneva showing.
Speaking with TMR today, Renault Australia’s Emily Ambrosy confirmed a late 2013 arrival for the new Kangoo, but local specifications are still being finalised.
Ms Ambrosy added that the new five-seat commercial version is not likely to make it down under.
