Porsche has announced its 2014 Macan SUV will kick off in Australia at $84,900 plus on-road costs.

That amount will buy you the entry-level Macan S Diesel, powered by a 3.0 litre V6 engine with a single turbocharger producing 190kW and 580Nm while sipping diesel at 6.3 l/100km.

The entry-level Macan handles the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.3 seconds.

The first of two petrol-powered models is next, with the Macan S priced at $87,200 plus on-roads.

Both petrol engines feature twin-turbocharging, with the Macan S getting a 3.0 litre V6 producing 250kW and 460Nm while returning a fuel figure of 9.0 l/100km.

The top-shelf Macan S Turbo is priced from $122,900 plus on-roads, packing 294kW and 550Nm from its larger 3.6 litre V6 engine with fuel consumption listed at 9.2 l/100km.

The Macan S achieves zero to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds, while the Macan S Turbo is 0.8 seconds quicker, with a time of 4.6 seconds.

All models feature Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive and a seven-speed PDK transmission.

The 2014 Macan was unveiled at the LA Auto Show last month, and is every chance of becoming Porsche’s top-selling model in Australia.

The order book is now open for the 2014 Porsche Macan SUV in Australia, with deliveries for all three models expected to begin in June.

2014 Porsche Macan Pricing (excluding on-road costs)
