Mistake, or a tricky piece of anticipation-inspiring viral marketing? Whatever the answer, Skoda's new Octavia RS performance sedan has surfaced again.
This latest image, obtained by enthusiast site Octavia3.cz, offers a clear new look at the car first revealed last year when it was mistakenly published on the carmaker's own website.
It is expected that power will come from the 2.0 litre turbocharged four that drives Volkswagen's new GTI hatch, giving the new Octavia RS an output of around 162kW.
That would mark a noteable increase, with the current and less-powerful Octavia RS available in 147kW petrol and 125kW diesel form.
As expected, the new RS will bolt on a sports styling kit, adding a new front bumper with larger intakes and LED light strips, along with larger alloy wheels.
There is also a tweaked skirting design along the sides, a boot spoiler and a new rear bumper with a diffuser-styled bottom panel flanked by a pair of wide exhaust tips.
Watch for more details on the new RS in the coming months.
