Nissan’s all-new X-Trail is now available with a diesel engine in the Australian market, priced from $35,380 plus on-road costs.
The new X-Trail has been available locally in its current guise since April, but only the petrol-powered variants have been offered until now.
And like the petrol models, the X-Trail diesel will offer both two- and four-wheel-drive, but the differences to each line-up from there are vast.
While the petrol X-Trail offers a manual transmission only in its entry-level 2WD ST spec, the diesel flips this around by offering the six-speed manual exclusively with 4WD.
The Xtronic CVT automatic is available across the entire 2.5 litre petrol-powered range, but is only available with 2WD in diesel X-Trail models.
Customers can choose from two trim levels in the X-Trail diesel, with the cheapest being the TS variant in 2WD, matched with the CVT automatic.
