New details have surfaced for Nissan's next-generation Dualis, with reports out of the UK hinting at the new SUV's engine options.
According to the UK's Autocar, the new 2014 Dualis will be offered with a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine from launch - and it will be the only petrol unit initially offered.
Already the subject of rumours earlier this year, the 1.2 litre DiG-T engine is expected to offer 85kW of power and around 180Nm of torque.
The new small turbo petrol is understood to be a replacement for the non-turbo 1.6 petrol engine offered with the Dualis in Europe.
The new Dualis is also expected to launch internationally with a pair of 1.6 litre diesel engines borrowed from partner Renault, offering 80kW and 95kW.
It is unclear which of these engines will come to Australia, although we could see a more powerful 2.0 litre unit, just as the current Dualis offers locally.
The platform of then ew Dualis is also understood to have been developed to accommodate a plug-in hybrid system, with the new Dualis set to offer such an option in 2015.
Watch for the new Dualis to make its world premiere before the year is out; likely at November's LA Auto Show.
